Who We Are

The people behind Westwind Recovery® are comprised of seasoned professionals with years of experience in psychology, therapy, and healthcare. We aim to provide a place and community for people who want to live sober. Our doors are always open for troubled individuals who want a second chance in life.

Our mission is to make recovery achievable for everybody with the help of our staff and a supportive community. We believe that aside from the treatment we provide, a safe and supportive community is vital for long-term recovery.

Philosophy

At Westwind Recovery®, we are committed to achieving one’s best through a strong community that collaborates for the best life possible. We as humans overcome and achieve great success as a team. Since the dawn of time, humans have helped each other as a tribe. Alcoholics and addicts are no different. When the substances we use to soothe ourselves are removed, we must lean on our fellow peers for some form of human connection. We rely on others to express how we feel. The miracle of recovery is when one addict or alcoholic helps another. It is what we believe keeps people clean and sober.

Westwind Recovery® is client-centered. We open a window through the fellowship. We create a fun environment so that addict/alcoholics can get proper clinical direction, uncover issues deep within, do the work to learn about themselves, and grow from the inside out.

We believe the key to keeping clients on the path to improving their lives is by making recovery fun and vibrant, but also keeping those in recovery engaged in the work. Sobriety should not be an unappealing task that makes an individual feel bogged down by the day-to-day. We promote joy on the road to recovery.

What We Do

WESTWIND RECOVERY BELIEVES

Every life is valuable. Every individual has the potential to create positive change and make our world a better place. When one of us gets caught up with substance use or a mental health disorder, we lose the ability to bring these gifts to the world. Addiction causes us to lose our capacity to love, hope, help, and heal. We lose ourselves, often with tragic results.

AT WESTWIND RECOVERY

Our goal is to help every person who walks through our doors connect with a newfound sense of discovery and healing. We are not just a treatment center; we’re a community of people who have joined forces to fight substance abuse, mental health disorders, and dual diagnoses one beautiful life at a time. Each one of us is here to affect positive change in our families, our communities, and beyond. At Westwind Recovery®, clients learn how to forge healthy, life-long, supportive friendships and connections.

Understanding Addiction

Recovery from addiction starts with a choice to seek treatment. Westwind Recovery® understands how difficult it is to take that first step; that’s why we strive to embrace every single person who walks through our doors.

Addiction is one of America’s most significant social problems. Substance abuse touches more than 20 million Americans every single year, ranging from illicit drug use to prescription drug and alcohol abuse. All forms of abuse can eventually lead to dependency, which can be difficult or even impossible to break without help.

People turn to drugs for many reasons: peer pressure, self-medication, or experimentation. While not every user becomes an addict, the risk of addiction exists from the moment of first use. The younger a person is when they begin to experiment with drugs, the higher their risk of becoming dependent. Interventional treatments like inpatient detox and therapy help clients uncover the underlying cause of their addiction, so they can address contributory issues, achieve wellness, and live happier lives without substances.

Inpatient therapy isn’t right for every client. For some, our outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, and sober living programs are a better fit. These have a lower demand on time, letting clients focus on healing without neglecting work, family, or school obligations.

Help Is Available

At Westwind Recovery®, respect and dignity serve as our most essential cornerstones across all programs. Clients are precious, unique individuals with their own individual addiction stories. All are deserving of love, support, and compassion. That’s why we work hard to customize the treatment path to the needs of the client instead of creating cookie-cutter “quick fix” programs that may not be the right fit. All you have to do to get started on the road to recovery is ask for help.

Every experience starts with a thorough needs-based assessment. Assessments include evaluation for detox or medication-assisted therapy programs. Some clients move into individual or group therapy programs on an outpatient basis; others need a higher level of inpatient or residential support.

While every client is different, inpatient therapy is by far the most useful starting point for people with addiction. By taking the client out of their daily environment and routine, they are better able to focus on recovery with less stress and more support.

Psychotherapy, relapse prevention, and co-occurring condition management are critical facets of Westwind Recovery®’s programs. We strive to meet clients where they are by providing access to many viable options for recovery-focused clients.
